Godzilla fans, gaze upon the face of your saviour.
We’ve know for a while now that Legendary Pictures has plans to make a new Godzilla movie, one that will wash away all the pain and suffering caused by Roland Emmerich’s cinematic attack on the franchise back in 1998 (Matthew Broderick, seriously? and you didn’t mean it ironically? ) We know that it will feature more monsters than just our big old favorite radioactive lizard. We know that Gareth Edwards (Monsters) will be in the directors chair. We know that both David Callaham and David Goyer have worked on the script. Well, today we find out a new little nugget of news, the Hollywood Reporter reports that Max Borstein is now on board as the writer.
Borenstein, who just turned in his script for Art of the Steal for Warner Bros and producers Kevin McCormick and Zac Efron, is well acquainted with Legendary. He worked on the company’s in-development Jimi Hendrix biopic, Jimi, and rewrote the outfit’s supernatural fantasy The Seventh Son. The latter, based on the Joseph Delaney YA book, is due to go into production with Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore and Ben Barnesattached to star.
Who? Has anyone seen any of the movies THR mentions up there? Is this guy a good choice? Damn you Hollywood Reporter, report more!
