Warners Now Accepting Applications for ‘Man of Steel 2′ Writers

The Warner Bros. money men must like what they see coming in on the dailies from the set of Superman: Man of Steel because they’re now shopping for writers to pen (so to speak) a potential sequel to the film.

So who’s on the short list? Not David S. Goyer, the man that developed the script for Man of Steel with Christopher Nolan, and developed the storylines for Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, including the upcoming Dark Knight Rises. Instead, the focus seems to be on Steve Kloves (the Harry Potter saga sans Order of the Phoenix), Travis Beacham (Clash of the Titans, Pacific Rim), and the legendary Lawrence Kasdan (Raiders of the Lost Ark and Empire Strikes Back).

That’s a pretty hefty slate, especially considering that Man of Steel isn’t released until JUNE 14TH, 2013!!!! That’s over a year and a half away, in case you can’t do the math. I guess Henry Cavill isn’t going to get a chance to let himself go before having to hit the gym for part two. Sorry Harry, no Li’l Debbies for you.
