There’s been a lot of speculation lately about the villain for the upcoming Star Trek film and whether or not it’ll be Khan. Everybody’s all like “it’s Khan!” or “it’s not Khan!” and both sides are just like “you’re all fuckin’ stupid!” So this all started with reports that J. J. Abrams has been working on getting Benicio Del Toro on the roster. Unfortunately, he was unable to get Benicio Del Toro on board for the Star Trek sequel.
Sadly, there’s one high-profile star whom Abrams didn’t manage to beam up: Benicio Del Toro, who entered into talks last month to play the sequel’s new villain. Insiders tell Vulture that the deal actually went asunder last Wednesday after parties couldn’t come to terms over monetary issues.
It’s always about the money.
Even though Abrams has been adamant about Khan not being the villain in this upcoming film, the evidence and the “inside scoop” suggests otherwise:
Vulture hears from a highly placed source that Khan is indeed the film’s baddie.
It’s possible that Abrams just isn’t ready to share these deets with the public. Or he really is planning something else.
What do you guys think?
