Last week we mentioned rumors of the third book in George R.R. Martin‘s A Song of Ice and Fire series, A Storm of Swords could be split over seasons three and four of HBO’s Game of Thrones. Now in an interview, Charles Dance, Tywin Lannister, patriach of the fearsome Lannister clan, may have spilled a few beans about the future of the uber-successful fantasy series.
WARNING! There are most definitely spoilers dropped here. Mostly concerning Tywin’s future, so if you don’t know already know, ye been warned.
We finished [filming] season two. I think that will air in February or March of next year, and we will start shooting season three in May or June of next year.
This sounds similar to the shoot schedule they had last year, meaning I bet Spring every year will be when new seasons premiere. Why they couldn’t have timed it better so ‘Winter is Coming’ would be THE most appropriate tagline, who knows. Dance continued on about a morbid subject, his character’s sticky end,
Devotees of the books have told me that I have a very spectacular death, not next season but possibly the season afterwards. I’m not going to tell you what that is, but it’s a death scene the like of which I’ve never had before, anyway.
As one of those devotees I can confirm his death is pretty phenomenal. Hits you right in the gut, y’know. But if it’s coming at the end of season four then A Storm of Swords must be split. Where do you think the split will come?
