Red Letter Media has released another tongue and cheek review, this time taking the mickey out of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Now I’ve enjoyed Plinkett’s reviews of the Star Wars prequels and the Next Generation Star Trek movies, but a lot of his “criticism” of Crystal Skull in this hour long review feels like he’s reaching for more reasons to hate it.
For instance, in the beginning there’s a lot of talk about Crystal Skull not being different enough from the previous films, but then Plinkett starts listing all the ways that this film is different from the initial trilogy. There’s also Plinkett’s assertion that people don’t like Indiana Jones so much as they like the idea of Indiana Jones, and that Crystal Skull wasn’t patriotic enough by making it more clear that America is the good guys, both of which seem bizarre to me. But these points are not as bizarre as the time wasted to the notion of Plinkett jerking off to Olsen twins movie or his hate for cat poop though.
For my part, I don’t have nearly the same degree of hate for Crystal Skull as others, but I think in this case Plinkett’s review has gone a little off the tracks (pun intended). Watch the review on the embed below.
