Honest Abe was no stranger to the axe, he probably used one everyday for a number of years in his early teens. This NerdBastard has been on the fence about these historical/fictional/monster/mashups and haven’t been able to make myself sit down with one and give it a try. (That’s from a guy that reads about 4 to 6 new books a month.)
So I am not gonna say anything except that I didn’t have high hopes for this movie, dreading some tongue in cheek, horrible dialogue and goofy fight scenes. Seeing this picture though has changed my mind. (I just called and had a copy held at the local bookstore.) Maybe this will be handled with some class, just think about what Lincoln went through with the loss of his child to disease, the crushing responsibility of the war.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a re-imagining of the 16th President’s life that depicts him as an axe-throwing, highly accomplished killer of vampires — an obsession of his since those bloodsuckers supposedly took the life of his mother. Lincoln eventually learns that the vampires have fled to the southern states of the U.S. and are concocting a plan to conquer and enslave the entire country — this in turn leads to the Civil War between the Union and the Confederacy, the latter of which the vampires are aligned with.
