I, like many of you, have come to terms with Lucasfilm‘s stupid and illogical decision to release the Star Wars saga in 3D beginning with the prequels. It irritates me to no end, but guess what? Episode I: The Phantom Menace will be releasing in 3D on February 10, 2012 whether I go see it or not. So why not see the movie and enjoy the high points. Darth Maul and the pod race.
Clearly, me and those behind these new posters are on the same page.
You might have noticed one poster shows off the pod race and promises how great it will be to watch in 3D. The other four feature Darth Maul and are completely badass to behold. He’s a prominent figure on four out of the five posters and he’s in the film for maybe 30 minutes!
Don’t get me wrong, I love Darth Maul, but just the fact that he is who they choose to feature most prominently proves he’s the only worthwhile character or scenario to come from Episode I.
These posters are so much cooler than the deserve to be, it actually gets me really excited to see Darth Maul flip, twist and kick-ass on screen in 3D. Which is, I’m sure, just what they were hoping for.
