Major ‘Star Wars: Underworld’ Plot Spoiler. This Could Change Everything!

Star Wars: Underworld is the live-action TV Star Wars drama currently being developed by George Lucas and his minions.  Despite the unfortunate title, SW fans are stroking their chins in delighted curiosity.  It has been described in previous interviews as being a gangster drama like The Godfather with mob bosses and bounty hunters, and that it would be “The Empire Strikes Back on steroids.” Maybe – just maybe – this is the Star Wars we’ve been holding onto our nipples for? *sigh* Well, according to a major plot spoiler, I would almost certainly say not. Or definitely not.

The plot reveal comes from AICN, and it’s doozy. Be prepared to be spoiled in 3…2…1…

One of the series’ first episodes will involve a group of  bandits acquiring the capability of time travel, and using it to travel back in time to stop Darth Vader from ever existing.

So… if the bad guys succeed in their plot to erase Darth Vader from history, wouldn’t that reset the entire Star Wars universe with it?  My god, is Lucas pulling a play from the J.J. Abrams hand-book? Does he intend to reset the whole kitnkaboodle?  Only Lucas would be so bold.

I am disgusted that people would even think about rebooting the Wars.  It’s heresy to even speak those words.  But, there are those out there who think the franchise has muttered its last breath.  Apparently, rebooting is not only a good decision for the franchise but it is the ONLY decision for the franchise.  I think these people need to be shot in the face.  This the best way to reboot Star Wars: YOU FUCKING DON’T.

I really fucking hope this time travel business is just a bad plot-device that ultimately goes nowhere.

    I think it’s a great idea… Now they don’t have to be tied to the extended universe and can go bat shit crazy with the stories. Can you imagine seeing where Luke, Han, Leia, etc. end up if there was no Darth Vader?

      First episode: Dudes acquire the ability to travel back through time. Get super excited about traveling back through time. Get all their shit together and prep and what not.
      Second episode: Dudes attempt to travel back through time. Doesn’t work. They try again. Still doesn’t work. Fuck it, back to the bar we go. THE END.

    yea, it would be awful to see the young Anakin Skywalker as portrayed by Jake Lloyd (or Hayden Christensen for that matter) die in a hail of laser fire.

    2) Even if it’s real, do you honestly think this would be an attempt to reboot Star Wars? Not in George Lucas’ lifetime.

    If this is true then it sounds like just a one off plot line (and quite a doosey it would be) ending with the “bandits” failing in their attempt.  And unless Lucas and company have gone back to square one it has already been established that both Vader and Palpatine would exist (as would all other characters) from the films in the new series!  And yes without Vader there would be no Luke or Leia but you would still have the Sith and Palpatine would most likely still build the Empire so what would the point be?  The only difference eventually would be that The Emperor wouldn’t die at the hands of Vader as he does at the end of Return of the Jedi!  Wouldn’t it make more sense to go back and kill Palpatine?

    Keep in mind that GL hates the original trilogy. If he does this and nukes the star wars universe I’d be extatic.

    At least then we wouldn’t have to struggle with getting the prequels to be consistent with the OT. He’d do what he’s always wanted to do… make the whole damn story himself.

    As a courtesy to your readers, a moment to run your spell checker before posting might be a little more professional. Unless of course, Lucas has created a new ‘minon’ character. While you’re at it, consider a thesaurus so you can expand your narrow and limited expletive riddled vocabulary and perhaps stop broadcasting your diminutive intelligence.
