Last week, we posted an article that Harrison Ford was in talks to possibly return for Ridley Scott‘s follow-up to Blade Runner.
Producer Andrew Kosove, who has already screamed “hogwash” once before, has flat out crushed the rumors of Ford reprising his role as Deckard.
While speaking with Deadline, Andrew set the record straight:
It is absolutely patently false that there has been any discussion about Harrison Ford being in Blade Runner.
That’s twice now that Kosove has give a stern no. Of course, I’m sure naysayers are still gonna claim it’s a smokescreen. Kosove did, however, update everyone on the current progress of this “reinvention”:
To be clear, what we are trying to do with Ridley now is go through the painstaking process of trying to break the back of the story, figure out the direction we’re going to take the movie and find a writer to work on it. The casting of the movie could not be further from our minds at this moment.
Ford or no ford, I still do not see the point of doing another Blade Runner. But, if they insist on a sequel/prequel then at least it’s with Ridley Scott. After the trailer to Prometheus I’m kind of excited to see Scott revisit old movies.
