Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut.
Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Above: I don’t know if I can ever look at Threepio the same again. Not now that I’ve seen under his, or sorry, her casing. (Fashionably Geek)
Holy shit! It’s Cartman, and he’s real! Wait, is he reading a book? Sorry, false alarm. But seriously, it’s uncanny. (Fashionably Geek)
That’s the only trouble with time travel. Sometimes you’ll arrive in the nick of time, other times you’ll have lots of time to spare. ‘Course, if I could commute by TARDIS I think getting home in time for my favorite program would my least pressing concern. (Nerd Approved)
How frightening to get an ultrasound only to realize you’re carrying the spawn of a space parasite! Is this Venom baby due before The Amazing Spider-Man? Is all part of some next stage in viral marketing? (Geekologie)
Nutella and Indy, together at last. Who knew Indiana Jones shilled for the delicious, chocolate-hazelnut spread? I’m sure this is something Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford and George Lucas would like to forget, but thanks to internet it’s here to stay. Watch this rare European commercial and try and tell you don’t have a hankering for Nutella. And a whip. And a cool hat. (Geeks of Doom)
Speaking of Indiana, Jamie Benning is back with another fantastic filmumentary called, Raiding the Lost Ark. If you’re familiar with his Star Wars filmumentaries, Star Wars Begins, Building Empire, and Returning to Jedi, you know the quality is unmatched. And since Indiana Jones didn’t just get a completely remastered Bluray release this is the best find for someone wanting to delve into all that went into creating Raiders. (TDW: Geek)
Look! It’s the Lana Del Rey/Hunger Games mashup you’ve been craving. You were expecting this, right? ‘Cause I had to Google who Lana Del Ray was. So sue me, I’m not hip on the music scene. (TDW)
It’s Peter Dinklage on Italian talks show, Chiambretti Sunday Show, being mock-photographed by a sexy model in tight leather pants. I’ll just leave this here without comment. (TDW)
