It’s about damn time!
This coming May, IDW will being together two highly vaunted, 60s-born sci-fi franchises for a Doctor Who/Star Trek: The Next Generation crossover, according to Bleeding Cool. The crossover was officially announced at the Gallifrey One Doctor Who fan convention in Los Angeles.
In the story, the Eleventh Doctor and companions Amy and Rory find themselves coming into contact with Capt. Jean-Luc Picard, William Riker, Data and the rest of the TNG gang. No other details were given, but let the speculation begin as to what titanic act of villainy brings the crews of the TARDIS and the Enterprise-D together in one awesome adventure.
Apparently, this isn’t the first time that the worlds of Who and Trek tried to broach the cultural divide. Russell T. Davies tried to raise the possibility when he re-launched the Doctor Who TV series in 2005, which, coincidentally, was the last year that the previous Star Trek series Enterprise aired in before it was cancelled. Although I think fans everywhere would have preferred seeing the Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler in the last episode of Enterprise rather than Riker and Troi.
What do you think Bastards? Will you be adding the Who/TNG crossover to your pull list for May?
Hell, the whole thing is already cool for this cover art below:
