Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Cowboys & Aliens) is trying his hand at directing a TV drama on his down time from working on Magic Kingdom. He’ll be directing the pilot for a new J. J. Abrams TV series called Revolution for NBC. He’s directed a number of pilots for comedies in the past, but this will be his first TV drama. He’s even set to work on the pilot for a comedy series called Tweaked. So it looks like he’s a pretty busy guy as of late.
But back to his work with J. J. Abrams, which is what is actually interesting here. This is what Deadline had to say about Revolution:
[…] A high-octane action drama following a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.
This doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, ’cause if you wanna get really technical, a lack of energy in the universe equates to a lack of existence. We’ll just have to see how this works, but I have a hunch that all the physicists and people who have even a semi-developed understanding of science will have a bit of a problem with the logistics of this plot line.
There’s no indication with respect to when this pilot will be happening, but chances are it’ll be soon since pilot season is upon us.
What do you guys think? Is this plot line garbage, or is there a way to salvage it?
