Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes cohorts have selected the director for the live-action reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, and they’ve chosen Jonathan Liebesman. The man behind Battle: Los Angeles (The big budget one not the television SyFy movie of the same name) and the upcoming sequel in the Titans franchise, Wrath of the Titans.
Liebesman likes to go full on reality – gritty in his movies and this NerdBastards hopes it translates into the Turtles movie. Not holding my breath though, the franchise is gonna be aimed at kids and not their aging fathers. Anything above a PG rating would surprise the hell out of this NerdBastard.
There is not much news beyond that so why not take a look at some of the new images of “branding art” produced in support of the imminent return of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to the cartoon world.
Keep your eyes out for Nickelodeon’s new and improved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 26 half-hour episodes due late 2012, NerdBastards will stay on top of this story, bringing you the news as it is announced about premiere dates and times.
