Looks like there is finally some movement on the follow up to Zack Snyder‘s totally heterosexual hit from 2006, 300. Deadline reports that Jamie Blackley is on board to play Calisto in 300: Battle of Artemisia. He joins Sullivan Stapleton (Animal Kingdom) who plays the menacing Xerxes, and Eva Green as Artemisia. If you don’t recognize the name, don’t be alarmed, he hasn’t done much. On Blackley’s resume you find some forgettable TV work, a bit part in Snow White And The Hunstman and he just wrapped up filming on uwantme2killhim?, a movie I assume was written completely in AOL chat.
Blackley plays a teen wants to become a heroic man and soldier like his father, and will have the chance to prove it as the leads the 16 year old to become a leader of a small band of soldiers. The movie itself takes place concurrently to the first one, so its not really a sequel or a prequel. Zack Snyder is not returning to direct however he did pen the screenplay with Kurt Johnstad and is also on on board as producer.
Now, I am going to guess that with Snyder on board the idea is to keep it looking as close as possible to the oil and sepia theme of the first one so its safe to assume Blackley has an assload of PX90 in his near future.
