Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut.
Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at email@example.com.
Samuel Lee of Prince Armory, a professional armorer has created this incredible Batman, all-leather suit of medieval armor. I’m simply speechless at how amazing this is. Who want to see a movie about Batman, the real Dark KNIGHT, now? (TDW: Geek)
Umm…this Transformer toy has balls. It. Has. Balls. What the fuck!? (io9)
Moving from robot balls to eating balls, this chick is rockin’ this Pac-Man dress. Seriously, where can I get one? Oh, it’s available on Black Milk. I love their stuff but I loathe the price tags. Then again, is there really a price you can put on looking so nerdy fine? (Fashionably Geek)
Looking to pop the question to that lucky lady? Why not use this custom Decepticon engagement ring? If she says yes to this ring you know she, or he, is a keeper. (Geekologie)
Oh Lydia, you are as dumb as a box of rocks. How many players have you frustrated while they journey through Skyrim? Hundreds? Thousands? Well, this video by Kristen Nedopak called, To Lydia with Love expresses that shared frustration over the worst companion to come out of Bethesda. (Fashionably Geek)
The GoBroPros are back with the third episode of Skyrim 2012. In this modern take on the epic fantasy game the brothers are continuing their journey after an unfortunate incident with Gregethor’s wife. We also have our first mention of dragons…ooooh…wonder how they’ll be recreated in these modern times. (TDW: Geek)
Do you know who Erik Bauersfeld is? I’ll tell you what you know his voice. Baursfeld voiced both Admiral Ackbar and Bib Fortuna in Return of the Jedi. He’s an award-winning radio dramatist who is still surprised by the immense popularity of his work in Jedi, but regardless he seems touched by fans’ letters. Baursfeld also auditioned to voice to Yoda and he gives a taste of what his Yoda would have sounded like. Check out the fascinating interview, and yes, he still delivers a spot-on, “It’s a trap!” (TDW: Geek)
It was hard being a Klingon in the Federation. Worf got no respect, as proven in this supercut by Youtuber tarnationsauce2 who shows us Worf repeatedly being dismissed and rejected by other members of the crew. How did he put up with it all?
Finally, here’s Neil Gaiman’s adorably awesome acceptance speech for the 2012 SFX Award for Outstanding Scriptwriting award he received for the Doctor Who episode, “The Doctor’s Wife.” (Geeks of Doom)
