Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut.
Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at email@example.com.
ABOVE: The tweet from @ThatElenaGirl is pretty self explanatory and Kirkman’s expression is freakin’ hilarious! Steve Yeun, who plays Glenn on AMC’s series, is quite the talented artist, don’t you think?
Marvel has had no luck making a hit of a Punisher flick. Easy way to solve that problem, cast a chick, duh. (TDW: Geek)
Perfect morning motivation. You cannot simply walk into Mordor, but you can walk to the coffee pot every morning. Even if it feels like a hike up Mount Doom. (imgur)
Feeling nostalgic? Then this rad, stop-motion recreation of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1987 cartoon opening should hit the spot. Created by Kyle Roberts and Nathan Poppe, with a theme song cover from The Boom Bang, this video was sponsored by the Toy and Action Figure Museum of Pauls Valley, OK. Turtle Power! (TDW: Geek)
Speaking of 80s toons, you must watch this plea from Optimus Prime for us to continue with our space exploration. All right, so it’s actually a NASA video narrated by Peter Cullen, but still, when Optimus is telling you to go to space, you fuckin’ go to space, all right? (Topless Robot)
Oh man, this is a real gem. This is a “highlight” reel from the 1975 musical It’s a Bird… It’s a Plane… It’s Superman! Watch Superman sing, dance, and cry, a lot, because it’s really, really hard being the strongest man on Earth. I will say this though, it makes you reconsider the shit you said about Turn Off the Dark. Then again, this musical is from the 70s and probably was the result of someone taking too many drugs. What’s Turn Off the Dark‘s excuse? (Comics Alliance)
Who knew the sun had such a problem with Mario? Dude should have just stayed inthe sky, heating the planet and all that jazz. He should know a giant ball of gas putting out unbelievable amounts of heat and energy is no match for a plumber. Those guys deal with clogged pipes, that’s hard work. (Dorkly)
Twins, dressed as Zelda, performing a duet of Skyward Sword‘s “Ballad of the Goddess” on harps. Twins, guys, twins. (Geekologie)
