‘Avengers’ News – Midnight Tix and Marathon Screenings Announced

Getting an early jump on things (though not as early as The Dark Knight Rises) tickets for midnight screenings on opening night of The Avengers go on sale sometime tomorrow. But in a good news/bad news situation, there are a few caveats.

According to Comic Book Movie, the bad news is that the tix are only going on sale in “select” cities, and we, as of yet, don’t know which cities those will be. The good news, meanwhile, is that those lucky enough to get those tickets tomorrow, will also get an Avengers poster, which looks like to be the rather underwhelming teaser poster. Here’s the screencap from The Avengers Facebook page.

In other news, courtesy of /Film, we’ve learned that AMC theaters is planning the “Ultimate Marvel Marathon” on Thursday May 3rd. For the low, low price of $40, fans will be able to see Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor (in 3-D), and Captain America (also in 3-D), all leading into the opening night, midnight screening of The Avengers (in, yes, 3-D).

Tickets at some venues have already gone on sale, but the complete list of theaters hosting the marathon has not, as of yet, been released on AMC’s website. The following theaters are already confirmed to be showing the marathon:

Boston Common 19 (Boston, MA)
Burbank 16 (Burbank, CA)
Downtown Disney 12 (Anaheim, CA)
Aventura 24 (Aventura, FL)
Empire 25 (New York, NY)
Garden State 16 (Paramus, NJ)
Downtown Disney 24 (Lake Buena Vista, FL)
Metreon 16 (San Francisco, CA)
Alderwood 16 (Lynnwood, WA)
Tysons Corner 16 (McLean, VA)

Otherwise, keeping counting down. Just 52 days till assemblage.
