Marvel Teases ‘X-Treme X-Men’

As the battle for domination continues between the top two comic book companies, it looks like the house of ideas is banking on a big summer. With Marvel Comics upcoming A vs X event looming we’re already seeing what will be released after the dust settles. The publish released a teaser image today that foreshadows a new X book.

For spoiler/tease purposes, the image is up after the jump.

yep, that’s it.

Not a whole of tease, huh? Purple and black text with ‘July 2012’ printed beneath the Jared Fletcher designed logo. According to the information accompanying the teaser, more will be revealed at WonderCon 2012 during Tom Brevoort‘s Talk to the Hat panel on Saturday, March 17 at 4:00 PM.

The ever reliable source, Rich Johnston from Bleeding Cool, has answered one question. Whatever this new book will be, it won’t be helmd by Chris Claremont. Between 2001 and 2004 Claremont wrote a book by the same title with art by Salvador Larroca and Igor Kordey.

As for the new book? My first thought is that the 90’s are really coming back. Someone is actually using ‘X-treme’ on a title. I guess we’ll find out this weekend just how ‘x-treme’ it will be.
