Thursday is overflowing with news on The Avengers. It seems only right to compile all of these news nuggets in mass (makes for easier bathroom reading). Between reactions to The Avengers premiere, it’s box office predictions, behind-the-scenes featurette, new post credit scene being filmed and (for good measure) a XXX trailer, super hero fans are glowing with excitement.

Is the hype getting to you? Well it’s getting to us too, and we hope beyond all hope that it lives up to expectations.

Anyhow, read on through for an assembly of Avenger awesome-ness.

A few in the comic/film community were invited to a the Hollywood screening of the film last night. Stay peeled to your computers later this evening because you will be graced with video blogs, reviews, and different goodies that Marvel has sanctioned can be put up after this evenings main event.  Thankfully, Marvel allowed those who went to the screening to post their reactions to the film over Twitter. The following are the best Tweets our friends and slashfilm managed to wrangle on the film.

After hearing much speculation and big talk of what are the possible box office numbers for the film, a bunch of hot air talk of whose better than who i.e.: The Avengers better than The Dark Knight Rises. With the ‘official’ statistics in from the “Mouse Labs”. Disney and Marvel  have gathered a sound estimate on consumer interest to view the film, along with projected sales for the first 72 hours of its release, this includes the Midnight Screenings. The statistics are as follows:

Consumer Interest-

“…[I]ndustry sources indicate that it has 23% ‘First Choice’ and 62% ‘Definite Interest’ for all audiences, with high levels of interest from both men and women. This means that it looks set to be a strong three/four quadrant movie.”

Box Office Sales-

“Marvel and Disney are currently on track for a $100+M domestic opening over the three day holiday. Disney and theatre owners are apparently still adding more and more screens for the release, while midnight screenings could be record breaking.”

What does any of this mean? It may sound like a bunch of marketing/economic mumbo jumbo, but here is the gist of what their report showed. By being “a strong three/four quadrant movie”, it means that the film shows high interest to all gender/age demographics, which results in high box office sales. May sound easy, but these scores are hard to get remember….John Carter. Now as for Box Office Sales, it seems that this number is purely dependent on the individual movie theater owners being willing to open up more screens, and add overtime to the amount of hours their employees will have to work to accommodate so many screening, as the weeks pass.

What else could be happening with The Avengers, well the next set of videos, and there are a lot  of them, are both the B-Roll behind the scenes footage and  along with B-Roll of a special credits clip that will appear in the middle of the film. (hope that is hint enough to stay after the film is over) Before you take a look at any of the videos below be aware that they contain Major Spoilers of different portions of the film.

Also just to add to the craziness that is The Avengers, it turns out that Robert Downey Jr. let it slip at the premiere that filming for the film isn’t over. Say what!?! You heard it right, tonight they are filming extra scenes that will appear, as stated before, in the middle of the credits. Of course, all of us can only assume that these extra scenes will clue us in to the sequel that will be released in the next year or so since every Marvel film that has added extra credit scenes to its credits gets made into a movie. Could this be a glimpse of a Avengers sequel or Black Widow…please be Black Widow!

So have you had your fill of The Avengers, ’cause this behinds the scenes look at all the inner workings of  the film along with footage should be enough to hold you over until the May 4th premier.

Lastly, we’ve seen different popular film franchise get picked up by the porn industry, and are given a makeover of raunchy proportions. Well the porn industry is latching onto a franchise right before it hits the uber popularity scheme, and it’s titled The Avengers XXX: A Porn Parody. The above video is a Safe For Work trailer of the porn parody in the works that changes the scheme of what you’ll see on the big screen, ’cause it can’t match up perfectly ya know.
