With two very high profile sequels in the works, the question remains. How much of A Dame to Kill For (aka Sin City 2) and Machete Kills will be directed by Robert Rodriguez? Well, while promoting the Blu-ray/DVD release of Roadracers he says he’ll be in the big chair for most of both, if not all!
With both movies entering production soon there was some concern about Rodriguez being able to helm the two of them, but as he told THR, this are looking good.
“We’re checking to see if there’s going to be the need for another director if I have to go off and do Sin City … Machete looks like it’s going to go pretty quickly so it’s possible that I will direct the whole thing.”
Rodriguez shared the directors chair on the first Machete movie with Ethan Maniquis, but this time around he really plans to direct the whole thing.
“There’s so much of it that I want to direct I’ll probably end up directing the whole thing, but if I have to step off, I’m going to try and shoot all of the actors and all of the main sequences. But it’s such a fun movie, and it just came out even more fun than I could have imagined.”
I am sure the common consensus out there is ‘f*ck Machete, dump it if you have to… just make a second Sin City movie, damn it.‘
crap. I think he heard you.
