The last decade has seen the birth of a cinematic super hero frenzy that doesn’t seem likely to slow down anytime soon. Now that The Avengers is beating the crap out of the box office and looking to pile up some record-breaking kudos, Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios have gotten so bold as to state that their future schedule consists of releasing two movies a year.
Already, they’ve got release dates set for Iron Man 3, Thor 2 and Captain America 2, and The Avengers 2 has been approved to go as well. But apparently, there are a couple of mystery projects in the works that the powers-that-be are refusing to let fans know the names of. One of these films is set to release in 2014, with the other being unspecified.
Since Feige has not been forthcoming regarding the nature of the new projects, speculation has been rampant across the net. Movies such as Ant-Man or Incredible Hulk 2 seem the most likely, though there has been talk of Dr. Strange, Nick Fury or Black Widow getting their own films. And there’s always the possibility that one of these mystery movies is simply Avengers 2, which they haven’t given a release date for as of yet. Of course, that would be pretty lame to tease something that we already know to be coming.
So, until Feige decides to spill his guts and let us know already what the hell is going on, the guessing game will go on-and-on.
Thanks to slashfilm for the heads-up.
