Pegg Says Again, No Khan in ‘Trek 2’

The great ping-pong game of is Benedict Cumberbatch playing Khan Noonien Singh in J.J. Abrams’ currently in production Star Trek 2 (or whatever it’s going to be called) continues. Well, it appears that the scales are tipping back again with the following statement from reboot Scotty Simon Pegg courtesy of The Telegraph, via Cinemablend:

It’s not Khan. That’s a myth. Everyone’s saying it is, but it’s not. I think people just want to have a scoop. It annoys me – it’s beyond the point to just ferret around for spoilers all the time to try to be the first to break them.

Pegg’s at least half right about that because so many people have reported that Cumberbatch is Khan or have denied it, you’d have to put a gun to my head for me to decide where I stand either way. Sure, this could be disinformation, but are the producers willing to let Pegg look like an uninformed ass just so that they can keep a secret everybody knows? I doubt it

I know it infuriates us all to no end how J.J. Abrams keeps $#!% such a big secret all the time, but maybe it’s time for us to chill out on this whole Khan or not Khan question till we get some kind of on the record confirmation.
