Jerry O’Connell has a new address: 1313 Mockingbird Lane.
CBS’ legal drama The Defenders was canceled after one season leaving Jerry free to don the big boots and stick bolts into his neck for the role of Herman Munster in NBC’s Munsters reboot titled Mockingbird Lane.
The actor will play the father of the family of monsters, who was originally played by Fred Gwynne. In the reboot, Herman — much like in the original — has his father in-law, Grandpa Munster, living in the basement of the family home. Who better to reprise the role of Grandpa Munster, that Al Lewis played so well, than Eddie Izzard. Eddie should easily play the powerful and quick-witted elderly vampire.
Mason Cook will play Herman and Lily’s werewolf son, Eddie. Bryan Singer will executive produce and direct the pilot.
This newer version is said to be an edgier and slightly darker take exploring origins of Herman and Lily Munster (originally played by Gwynne and Yvonne De Carlo) and how they arrived at the famed 1313 Mockingbird Lane address.
