The truth of all things Hollywood is that if you speak a rumor, it will (by the laws of twisted fandom physics) slowly solidify until it becomes fact. This was demonstrated recently when David Slade (director of the upcoming Daredevil reboot) expressed his interest in having Josh Hartnett play the lead role. It rumors became so persistent, in fact, that Slade was forced to clarify the matter in another tweet to his loyal fans:
Yep, nope, Josh Hartnett is not being discussed or anyone else for DD that was just some wishful thinking, we are not at casting stage.
In addition to debunking the fans, Slade also had a few opinions to express about how his new project will be shot (should they ever make it to that stage):
More DD debunking I am firmly against shooting in stereo so its unlikely to happen that way, & Fox is rightly against 2D to 3D conversions.
While fans of Hartnett and 3D may be disappointed, at least Slade is actually discussing the film, which means it’s likely coming out of limbo to make some headway. Hopefully more reliable news will be available so that rumors aren’t the only thing that fans have to latch on to.
Thanks to bleedingcool for the heads-up.
