Shooting is now underway on the long-in-the-works live-action fairy tale film Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie as the villain from Sleeping Beauty. Today, we get our first look at what Jolie looks like as Maleficent, right down to the horned head wear. Check it out:
Also, Disney has released some character details and other slight reveals about what’s involved with the film.The plot will chronicle how Maleficent became so badass and the “human/faerie conflict”(?). Joining Jolie are Elle Fanning as the young Princess Aurora (AKA: Sleeping Beauty), Juno Temple, Imelda Staunton, and Lesley Manville as the fairies that will later protect the teenage Aurora from Malificent’s curse, and Sharlto Copley as Aurora’s father King Stefan.
