Look at the unit on that guy!?!?
Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel Superman reboot production and marketing team hasn’t let much out of the bag about the movies plot or story-line so far, just some set pictures and a few comments here and there. The latest rumor making it’s way around the Internet is from Comic Book Movie. They have a source saying a “good portion” of the movie will be spent back on a “war torn Krypton,” Superman’s home planet.
There’s no telling if a good portion is half, a fourth, or just 5 minutes in the opening credits, but perhaps some of the casting can help us out in that regard. The casting of Micheal Shannon as General Zod (Story villain) and Russell Crowe as Jor-El (Superman’s father) leads this NerdBastard to believe that the good portion mentioned above should be at least a good 30 minutes of movie. You don’t cast a heavy weight like Crowe and not use him. You could hire him and only use him in 5 minutes of the movie, but that would be incredibly stupid and expensive.
The original origin story had Krypton destroyed in a natural disaster, most likely this war is what now leads to Krypton’s destruction. It does make a great story and can add some layers to the eventual conflict between General Zod and Superman.
What do you think? Will audiences last in a movie where Superman doesn’t don the cape in the first 30 to 45 minutes?
