After 266 days, it looks like filming on the first part of the LoTR‘s prequel, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has come to a close. Director and little people aficionado, Peter Jackson‘s official Facebook page posted the following today:
We made it! Shoot day 266 and the end of principal photography on The Hobbit. Thanks to our fantastic cast and crew for getting us this far, and to all of you for your support! Next stop, the cutting room. Oh, and Comic Con! Cheers, Peter J
Let the long grueling process of CGI’ing people short and long hours of editing commence! I wonder if they listen to ‘Where There Is A Whip, There Is A Way‘ while slaving away over at Wingnut Films.
The first of two movies that will follow Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) and his adventures will hit theaters later this year on December 14th. The second part, titled The Hobbit: There and Back Again, will be released on December 13, 2013.
