Just when we all thought that Micheal Bay was a safe distance from that dreaded Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, he comes crawling back from the sewers. While the project itself continues to be held back (thank God), a copy of the Bay-produced script made its way to Latino-Review’s El Mayimbe and he released news that somehow went unnoticed for nearly an entire month!

How we ever managed to miss something like this remains a mystery, but according to El Mayimbe’s Twitter this version of TMNT written by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec

…makes up for Micheal’s name being attached to something held so dear to us older nerds, right? Well if that last tweet made up for all the disappointment you were expecting then this next one may possibly blow your mind:

No Tokka, no Rahzar and no Vanilla Ice, but Bebop & Rocksteady, the mutated henchmen of Shredder. Just those two names alone makes this nerd want to see the movie. But keep in mind that this is the script rumored to be part of the reason the entire production was halted. So while we wait to be disappointed in the next few years we can always look forward to watching Nickelodeon‘s new animated version of our friends and their “turtle power” this September. Check out all the details in the jump.

Starring the voices of American Pie‘s Jason Biggs  (yes, that Jason Biggs), Lord of the Rings’ Sean Astin, Greg Cipes and the original voice of Raphael, Rob Paulson, the 26 half-hour episodes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will begin airing on Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. The first two episodes will air together as a one-hour season opener. Nickelodeon described the show as:

“Funnier and with more Ninjutsu than ever before, the show will explore the companionship of four teenage brothers learning to rely on themselves and one another as they unravel the mystery of their existence and grow to become the heroes in a half-shell that they are destined to be.”

Rounding out the cast is Parenthood‘s Mae Whitman as April O’Neil, Royal Pains’ Hoon Lee as Master Splinter and Kevin Michael Richardson as the Foot Clan’s tyrannic leader, the Shredder. Nickelodeon will officially announce the premiere date for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles this Saturday.

why cant they make the original tmnt comic into a movie and not the shit from the cartoon. show people who the real tmnt are. like we got the grim gritty assassin tmnt at climax of the turtles forever movie and let them use there weapons and show a lot of blood and give them back the red mask and make shredder a drug lord ninja and make April a computer wiz like in the comics and bring in the African american Baxter Stcokman and the mousers the vigilante serial killer Casey Jones and the purple dragon gang also the utroms and Triceritons also shredders brother orroku nagi he’s been absent since the first comic and show the love triangle between saki’s brother hammato yoshi and tang shen and also the car chase scene from the comic looked like it could fit and make the film into a trilogy shit its not hard to make.
