Fans of the original flick know by now that Kick-Ass 2 is on the fast track to production. Negotiations with the former movie’s actors have been underway and Jeff Wadlow has stepped in to take over for Matthew Vaughn in the director’s chair. Fans are equally eager to know when the sequel to the ass-kicking Kick-Ass is likely to start up, thus alleviating our fears that it will be killed in pre-production like so many other great projects.
During a Comic-Con panel for the upcoming Paranorman, Christopher Mintz-Plasse (AKA Red Mist), in response to a question from the audience, informed everyone that Kick-Ass 2 was pretty much cleared to go and would likely start shooting this September. Mintz-Plasse will be rejoining his fellow Kick-Ass veterans, Aaron Johnson and Chloe Moretz for this new installment.
Let’s hope that Wadlow can do as good a job as Vaughn did, or there will be a riot (or at least some angry emails written).
Thanks to CinemaBlend for sitting in on this one for us.
