‘Captain America’ Sequel Bringing Falcon to the Onscreen Marvel World

The sacred sequels of the almighty Dis-Marvel super hero franchise are fast approaching.  One of the upcoming titles on the list, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is preparing to go into production and the casting has begun.  The biggest addition to the talent line-up comes in the form of adding Falcon to the flick, giving the Cap a buddy to accompany him on his adventures.

Actor Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) is being approached to take on this iconic role.  Sam Wilson, AKA Falcon, is a rough-and-tough, ghetto-bred criminal who changes his evil ways and joins up with Captain America to help him fight the bad guys.  Those who know the Captain’s comic run know that Falcon was a mainstay in the series for quite a while throughout the 70s and still occasionally shows up to lend a hand.

If the new flick follows the storyline that the announced title “The Winter Solder” suggests, we should be seeing the Cap’s old buddy, Bucky coming back from the dead and turning into an evil super-assassin by the name of (duh) The Winter Soldier.

Captain America’s sequel is set to begin filming in January of next year and has been given a release date of April 4th, 2014.
