It’s literally right there, in your face, anytime you watch, think about, or discuss the series. It is the question – Doctor Who? And while it was a lovely way to end season six, the ultimate question just hanging there unanswered, you have to wonder if there is an answer? And if so, what is it?
This query was addressed at the Doctor Who panel last Sunday at Comic-Con, and here’s what that crafty Steven Moffat had to say,
He never gives his name. Other Time Lords do, but he doesn’t. Clearly the question is tremendously important … And only I know why!
Now he’s just gloating, so a little more pressure is applied,
We actually find out the truth.
Meaning, yes we for sure learn the Doctor’s real name?
Yes… You’ll see.
Ah! How he drives us mad!
I mean, I don’t think anyone expected him to outright name the Doctor on the panel, no matter how much Matt Smith begs, and honestly, that’d be a terrible way to learn. I wouldn’t be shocked if he answers it, or at least gives as much an answer as they ever will, in the 50th anniversary. That’s a big enough “thing” to mark the show’s 50th, don’t ya think?
And for those who haven’t had the chance to watch it yet, I’ve included video of the Comic-Con panel recorded and uploaded by YouTuber, magicinthenumbers. Enjoy!
