The CW Makes Sure We’ll be Watching ‘Arrow’ by Adding John Barrowman

That’s right, Capt. Jack Harkness will be in Star City – sorry, Starling City this fall when Arrow premieres on the CW, basically guaranteeing we’ll all be watching. I guess I had planned to tune in anyway, most of the teasers have me intrigued, but with John Barrowman joining the cast, I can’t miss it.

Barrowman’s role will be a recurring one as, “an acquaintance of the Queen family.” No name for his character has been given but the description continues with, “well-dressed man” who is “as mysterious as he is wealthy. With all that money and power, he’s one of the most prominent figures in Starling City.” I think this is a role Barrowman will fit with ease what with his good looks and devilish charm, but it’s not much of a clue as to who he really is.

Entertainment Weekly, who broke the news,  is speculating the role could be philanthropist Stanley Dover Sr., a character from Kevin Smith’s run on Green Arrow. I hope not, nothing against the character, I just don’t think it’d be a good fit even if it does sounds similar to the role’s description. I would like to see this role turn villainous, though, that’d be fun. We already know Barrowman plays the dashing hero excellently, wouldn’t you like to see him switch it up?

What do you think, will Barrowman be friend or foe when Arrow premieres October 10th?
