Castlevania, one of the latest in the video game movie trend, has had a hard time getting started. They’ve been grabbing up and losing production staff over the years, only recently settling down into what looks to be a promising run toward the finish line. They’re so confident about the movie actually making it past pre-production, in fact, that they’ve cast Michael Dorn in the film. What will old Worfy be playing? Why, a werewolf, of course.
Once again poor Dorn will be layering his face in make-up to take on the role of a character that only vaguely resembles the actual actor. Seems like this guy is locked into some sort of typecasting trend?
Asked about the project, Dorn had these insightful comments:
People have been trying to get this thing done for a long time and they finally got the producers together that want to do it. They finally got the OK from the owners, and so they’re doing it.
It’s a fun little part. It’s four days, and I’m playing a werewolf that’s been around for a gajillion years who works for this vampire. It’s not too far from Worf because there’s a lot of killing and jumping and sword fights and everything.
And while the end result of the movie may or may not measure up to a steaming pile of crap, Dorn’s name will no doubt draw in a few more people and help to get the box office up.
Thanks to The Mary Sue for the heads-up on this one.
