As if Japan doesn’t have enough problems right now, it looks like Godzilla is coming back to town. Legendary Pictures is rebooting the giant lizard and sending him off to destroy more cities in the name of good, old-fashioned, destructive fun. But before casting and filming can begin, the studio is giving the script one more make-over, courtesy of Drew Pearce, the dude who co-wrote Iron Man 3.
Casting begins in less than a month, so Pearce better work fast. The word on the street is that he’s only there to adapt the already acceptable script to the proper age of the actors that the studio wants to bring into the film. They are reportedly targeting older actors and looking to make this Godzilla version more realistic. Let’s hope it works out, cause previous reboots have been a pure fkn disaster.
A proper trailer for Godzilla is set to crush the world on October 23rd and the movie itself is slotted for a May 16, 2014 release.
Thanks to ComicBookMovie for the heads-up.
