The theme park angle is quickly becoming another popular way to make money from movie property copyrights. These things are springing up all over the place and the latest in this line looks to be a Paramount theme park in the UK. Being developed by London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH), the new park will be located about 15 minutes outside of London.
The list of properties that Paramount has available to exploit include such greats as Star Trek, Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider, SpongeBob SquarePants and Mission: Impossible. Along with the rides, they’ll be adding in all the standard theme park stuff, such as places to eat, places to shop, places to sleep and a variety of venues. Europe’s largest indoor water park is also on the list of attractions.
LRCH and Paramount are still going over what attractions would be best, but they hope to have the whole thing up and running sometime around 2018.
Thanks to /film for the heads-up.
