Well, they still are. Maybe. Hey look a kinda-sorta update!
Mark Millar, the newly appointed Tsar and High Holy Joss Whedon of Marvel properties for FOX studios hasn’t had much (or anything really) to say about a live action Deadpool movie. Does this mean Deadpool is dead in the water again?
Well, the last director attached to the project still sounds rather positive that we will see the Merc with a mouth on the big screen sometime soon. Tim Miller is currently attached to the recently kickstarted Goon movie and responded on the page to a fans question about the status of Deadpool.
We’ve turned in an amazing script and done some early tests and visual development that–I’m confident–would get the fans stoked. And Ryan still loves the project. So it’s really up to Fox as to whether or not the film happens–all I can do is hope (and beg periodically) that it be allowed to move ahead.
So, it still has a chance, right? Rumor has it that the R-rated script is actually pretty good, the test footage that creator Rob Liefied gushed about sounded awesome, and hey… if Ryan Reynolds is still willing to take the part (in his on going quest to be every comic book character ever), maybe FOX will take a chance on Deadpool.
