New ‘Terminator’ Film Moving Forward. Hurray?

It’s been three years since the ho-hum release of Terminator: Salvation, and it’s been almost two years since the rights to the Terminator franchise were bought by Annapurna Pictures. But now it seems that Annapurna is ready to launch their own Terminator film and are currently in development on the untitled Terminator 5.

The Annapurna Twitter feed posted today, “The whole thing goes: The future’s not set. There’s no fate but what we make for ourselves.” -John Connor, Terminator 2 (news is coming).” But what news is coming? Writer? Director? Arnold Schwarzenegger involvement? We just don’t know. Yet.

On last communique, it was revealed that Justin Lin, director of the last three Fast and the Furious movies was putting together a fifth Terminator, but there’s no word on whether or not he’s involved. It’s probably highly suspect to think that James Cameron still wants a piece of this since Avatar seems to be all he can think about these days. Hopefully McG, director of Salvation, is contemplating retirement.

How about you Bastards? Sound off below and lets us know what you want to see in a Terminator 5.

I’m personally one of the few who actually enjoyed Terminator Salvation for the fact that it tried NOT to be T1, T2 or (thank God) T3… Justin Lin… maybe a nice choice, but you can bet on testosterone-filled action rather than substance… need proofs? Fast and Furious 3 to 5… and soon the sixth. They’re fun movies, but they don’t qualify as smart action as I would call it… and for smart sci-fi, if Mr. Lin’s involvment becomes real, I want him to surprise me.
