As the Marvel movie universe continues to expand, fans have had to subsist on a steady diet of rumor and hearsay. Well, get ready to head back to the ‘will it happen buffet’ because The Man just brought out the gravy (ok, that got away on me a little.)
During a Q & A at the 15th annual Savannah Film Fest, Stan Lee dropped a few comments that should make Doctor Strange and Black Panther fans happy.
“Oh they are all being made into movies! I can tell you there will definitely be a Dr. Strange movie! They are working on Antman, which requires really small cameras! Black Panther is being developed, one of my favorites…the Inhumans…All the heroes will eventually be made into movies.”
Ok, we know Antman is happening and Doc Strange and Black Panther have been long rumored, but I am suspect over a possible Inhumans movie not to mention ‘all the heroes.’ I doubt we’ll ever get a Stilt-Man movie. Still, Lee does serve as executive producer on all the movies so he’s got to know something, right?
“I have very little control. I don’t see the script, occasionally I will have lunch with the director or a star, like the guy making Antman,I don’t remember his name- I don’t remember names, or Robert Downey Jr., for Ironman and we talk about the characters,”
I love this man. He’s like the uncle we have all always wanted. So he doesn’t wield a lot of clout on the set, he doesn’t need to. He’s part of the talent! Yes he was asked about his cameos in the Marvel movies.
“I love them! I feel like an actor! I can’t wait to be in the credits and also think that the Oscars should add a category for ‘best cameo!’ But wait until you see my cameo is Ironman 3. It’s the best one so far!”
“They call me One-Take-Lee! But whenever I do a cameo, they call me up and say they have a cameo for me and I come in and shoot it. I come into the studio, dressed in my normal garb and they tell me I got to go to wardrobe and they end up dressing me in the same exact thing I was wearing when I arrived!”
You can read more over at District, and I encourage to do so. It is a fun read. It is Stan Lee.
