When it comes to Disney’s acquisition of Star Wars and the promise of an Episode VII, it seems like you can’t even mention someone in Hollywood any more without a rumor popping up about them being involved.  And while the rumor vultures (namely sites like us) like to prey upon directors primarily, every once in a while someone else gets called out.  This time around, it’s Brenda Chapman.

Some may know Chapman as the co-director for Pixar’s Brave.  Others may not know her at all.  But now she’s in the spotlight.  Why, you ask?  Cause she left her job at Pixar this August to go work for Lucasfilm.  Convenient timing, eh?

To add fuel to the fire, she’s been tweeting a bit, responding to fans’ requests for information on her involvement with ambiguity.  Essentially, she’s not not working on Star Wars.

And then there’s this, explaining why she left Pixar:

As some of you seem to already know (ah, the marvel of technology), I’ve started consulting for Lucasfilm Animation. I am not directing. This was a wonderful opportunity to work with someone whom I’ve admired from a distance in the film industry for years: Kathleen Kennedy. I was completely surprised and honored when she asked me to work with her on this particular project – which I am not at liberty to discuss. (Sorry, I know you wanna know, but I just can’t tell ya.) I feel very privileged to have this opportunity, even for a short time.

So it sounds like the ex-Pixar lady is working on something, whether it be in the FX capacity or perhaps a new Star Wars animated series/film.

And this has been your hourly Star Wars Rumormill Update.  Stay tuned for more before you can blink!
