Bare with me as I try and give a shit about Transformers 4 long enough to impart this new, little bit of casting development. After saying he wouldn’t do a fourth Transformers flick, Michael Bay is doing a fourth Transformers flick, and after saying he wasn’t casting Mark Wahlberg, he’s casting Mark Wahlberg. At this point any news associated with this GIANT misstep of a movie should be considered false. At least until Bay tells you other wise, then changes his mind about it.
It was rumored from the start Bay wanted a whole new cast for Transformers 4. He was even supposedly – shockingly – looking to cast a young woman in the lead. With what THR is now reporting it seems things are still heading that direction. Competing for the female lead are,
Isabelle Cornish, sister of Australian actress Abbie Cornish (Limitless); Nicola Peltz, who appeared in M. Night Shyamalan’s Paramount movie The Last Airbender and has a part in A&E’s Bates Motel; Margaret Quallay, the daughter of actress Andie MacDowell; and Gabriella Wilde, who is in the new Carrie movie.
And the potentials to play the female lead’s boyfriend are,
Luke Grimes, who appeared on ABC’s Brothers & Sisters and is in Taken 2; Landon Liboiron, who co-starred on Fox’s Terra Nova and will be seen in the upcoming Netflix series Hemlock Grove; Australian Brenton Thwaites, who starred in the telefilm Blue Lagoon: The Awakening; relative newcomer Jack Reynor; and Weeds co-star Hunter Parrish.
I know none of these young actresses and actors and am barely familiar with their work. Except maybe Hunter Parrish from Weeds, he one of the sons, right? Which one, the younger or older? Oh what does it matter, I can’t imagine any of these “stars” would make me actually want to watch Transformers 4.
Any of these young and hopefuls you like? Is there anyone who even sat through this article long enough to care?
