‘Evil Dead’ Poster Makes Lofty Promises – Failure Ahead?

- 11-20-12Film Posted by Adam A. Donaldson

So the trailer for the Evil Dead remake gave us some hope that the movie won’t be a total lost, but is this new poster  for the film from Sony maybe raising the hype to near impossible levels?

Yes, the Evil Dead remake is being billed as “the most terrifying film you will ever experience.” Although I have to say that I was impressed by the trailer, this is going to have to be some movie for me to come around to it being “the most terrifying film you will ever experience.” And I also trust that they mean “terrifying” in the most positive sense of the word as opposed to a film like Uwe Boll’s Postal, which truly was a terrifying sight to behold.

Directed by Fede Alvarez from a script by Alvarez, Rodo Sayagues and Diablo Cody, Evil Dead  stars Jane Levy, as the new, girl Ash along with Shiloh Fernandez Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore. They play five twentysomethings that go to a cabin in the woods for a fun weekend of supernatural horror and blood-letting. The film will be in theaters on April 12th 2012.

And for your viewing pleasure, let’s go to the red band trailer.

They seem to try and amplify Stephen King’s quote on the original’s poster… simple as that…
