As part of their attempt to compete against the Disney-Marvel mega-machine, 20th Century Fox is putting together their own interconnected Marvel universe with the properties that they own. The next few years shall see the beginnings of this effort, starting in 2013 with The Wolverine and continuing into 2014 with X-Men: Days of Future Past. And now, it looks like the Fantastic Four reboot will be ready to go in 2015 – March 6th, 2015 to be precise.
Writer/Director Josh Trank will be helming the project, which will have nothing to do with the two horrible films that were made earlier in the 21st century. Trank made his name with the flick Chronicle and now he has the chance to take a shot at a big brand name.
The addition of FF to the film listings of 2015 makes a great year even better. In case you haven’t heard, Avengers 2 and the new Star Wars flick are also scheduled to appear in that year, as well as a possible Justice League film. March may not be prime season, but the other big-shots are dominating summer, so it’s probably the only way that Fantastic Four will get people into the theaters.
Let’s hope Trank doesn’t screw it up.
Thanks to /Film for the heads-up.
