We all know when we’ll see Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters, August 1st, 2014, but when will cameras roll on the film, that’s a good question.
Screen Daily is reporting that Marvel is looking to get Guardians on set and in front of the camera sometime this summer, which would make sense if the film is going to come out in 2014 given the considerable post-production that would have to be done on the film. Screen Daily is also reporting that the film will be shot at Shepperton Studios in England, which recently hosted the set of another Marvel film, Thor: The Dark World.
So now we know the when and the where, but how about the who? Presumably, casting is in progress by director James Gunn. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jim Sturgess and Zachary Levi are the lead candidates for the part of team leader Star Lord.
More news as it develops.
