In a move that shocked precisely no one, Marvel.com today announced that Captain America: Winter Soldier, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo–and James Gunn’s highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy adaptation will both be available in 3D. This breaking news, arriving on the heels of identical announcements regarding soon to be released Marvel flicks Thor: The Dark World, and Iron Man 3, was greeted with a collective “DUH” from the comic and cinematic worlds alike.

Isn’t it a given by now that Marvel films will be released in 3D? It’d be bigger news to hear that a Marvel film has decided to eschew this headache-inducing gimmick, to be perfectly honest.

Regardless, look for Captain America: Winter Soldier on April 4th of this year–and Guardians of the Galaxy (which has yet to be officially cast–and thus we’d caution that its release date is subject to revision) on the 1st of August, 2014….In 2D and 3D.
