Ronald Moore’s Newest Project ‘Helix’ Looking Good to SyFy

- 01-16-13TV Posted by Jason McAnelly

We pretty much all recognize the name Ronald Moore by now – the mastermind who rebooted the Battlestar Galactica television show and turned it into one of the biggest science-fiction hits in years.  But what has old Moore been doing lately?  Well, it looks like he’s trying his hands at some more sci-fi in the form of a show titled Helix and, if sources are to be believed, the SfFy channel is about ready to pick it up for a first season run.

Helix is, according to the generic blurb:

About a team of scientists investigating a possible disease outbreak at an Arctic research facility who find themselves trying to protect the world from annihilation.

The deal isn’t set in stone quite yet, but chances are looking pretty good for Moore and his new brainchild.  If it’s in the cards, then the 13-episode season will likely be hitting the small screen sometime later this year.

Thanks to BleedingCool for the heads-up.
