With Christopher Nolan wrapping his Batman trilogy last summer it’s only a matter of time before we begin hearing about a new Batman movie, which in all honestly will likely be a new Batman film franchise. The reputable fansite, Batman on Film, has heard from a reliable source, a trusted “FOBOF” (Friend of Batman on Film), to expect a post-Nolan Batman flick to hit theatres in 2017. Too soon? Hmm, not really. Batman Begins came out in 2005, eight years after Batman & Robin. Plus, what’s hotter now than superheroes?
‘Course, this won’t be the first appearance of the post-Nolan Batman as he’ll likely also appear in Warner Bros.’ Justice League movie. After Man of Steel releases this year it’s expected Justice League will follow two years later, and will be impacted greatly by the success or failure of Man of Steel. No pressure, Snyder.
So, what are you thinking? This is obviously 100% rumor and hearsay, but by 2017 would you like to see a new Batman? Personally, I think I’d like to see WB wait on rebooting Batman. It’s fine if he’s in Justice League, giving us a taste of cinematic Bats without need a whole new series. What I’d love to see is another Batman animated show. There’s apparently a new rule where they don’t want a TV Batman competing with a movie Batman, but come on. I think most fans would agree the animated Batmen turn out better than their movie counterparts, anyway.
