So, Marvel has found it’s Peter Quill, but if I tell you who it is in these first few sentences, you will totally see the reveal in the excerpt on the front page of the site or on our Facebook page and then you won’t click the article. We want you to click our articles. We need you to click our articles, so really, this part is just filler because I will be damned if I’m going to give you this information for free without extracting a page hit out of you!
Welcome. Chris Pratt has been tabbed to play Star-Lord (or Starlord) in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Was that so hard?
Now, before you light the internet on fire because the lead singer of Mouse Rat came out of nowhere (but… but… the “insiders” and “experts” said…) to nab one of the more coveted action hero roles in nerdom, please do remember that the Parks and Recreation star has some experience playing a tough man of action who knows how to apply his combat training to take down the dregs of the earth.
In fact, I’m pretty sure that Pratt’s time playing FBI Agent Bert Macklin is undoubtedly what convinced James Gunn and Marvel that the somewhat doughy Pratt could kick ass with extreme prejudice.
Also, Pratt just played one of the Navy Seals who downed Osama Bin Laden in Zero Dark Thirty, so that might have something to do with it.
So, Pratt as Quill, leading the Guardians and befriending woodland creatures with itchy trigger fingers… what do you think? Will he show up in Iron Man 3? Will this effect his ability to work on Parks and Rec? Stop. I don’t care, that was just more filler.
