The sequel to Zack Snyder’s Spartan war flick 300 has disappeared off the radar for some time now, but it looks like they may be ready to start in on the marketing soon enough. 300: Rise of an Empire released its first official logo pic via their Facebook page. If you look at the top of this page you’ll see it.
The film, which has gone through many changes, including multiple title incarnations, appears to be finally settling in. The logo confirms the 2013 release year, although the previously promised August 2nd date has been left off. Perhaps they want a little more room to play with that?
In any case, the new film, if you haven’t heard the story details already, occurs at the same time as the original 300 though it follows a different battle. This one deals with General Themistocles and his army of Athenians as they combat another front of the Persian army.
So it may not be the most exciting news, but at least we know they haven’t shit-canned the film. The teaser trailer is rumored to be releasing at the end of March, so keep an eye out for that as well.
Thanks to GeekTyrant for the heads-up.
