While Michael Bay and Megan Fox appear to have kissed and made up – he’s cast her as April O’Neil in his reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – he’s not bringing her back to the Transformers franchise. Thank the maker!
Confirmed on Twitter this morning, 18-year-old actress Nikola Peltz will be joining the cast as, we’re assuming, Mark Wahlberg‘s daughter. Her race car driving boyfriend will be played by Jack Reynor. I remember in the early reports for Transformers 4 the lead would be a chick, and I hope that’s still the plan. And when I say lead, I mean she’s the one discovering and interacting with our favorite robots in disguise, not just serving as eye candy. Which is really all Fox and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley ever did.
What do you think of this casting? Think Peltz’s had what it takes to survive a Bayformers, explosive, schlock fest?
