Back in the day (AKA 2006), the television show Heroes was a gateway for many people to experience the world of the super hero genre. It was, at the very least, one reason why we’re seeing a proliferation of super hero television and movies. And though it got rather convoluted at times, a fact that led to its downfall, it still remained an enjoyable show all the way to the end. Now, it looks like it may be getting a chance to go beyond season 4, courtesy of MSN.
If it does indeed come back, Heroes would reach us via the X-Box Live Network, MSN’s attempt at busting into the online-only TV market. It would also not likely feature many of the original characters. Instead, we could expect a new cast and new stories with, perhaps, the occasional cameo to remind us of the show’s origins.
This could be a great opportunity for both X-Box Live and the show in general, bringing in new viewers and, if the writers are worth their salt, steering away from the great piles of confusing that laced the first four seasons. Personally, I’d love to see Heroes come back. What do the Nerd Readers have to say about it?
